Jussi Ketola returns to Finland from the United States, suffering a major economic crisis, to face a growing political turmoil. One summer night in the 1930s, nationalist rapists kidnap Ketola from his home. He is beaten and then forced to go "an eternal path" towards Soviet Russia. The cruelty of his journey does not seem to end. His only dream is to return to his family, no matter what the price. Hope is dying last ... The film is based on true events.
